Purpose: To collaboratively explore an area of the city to identify and learn from each other about the planning, design and dynamics of new economic spaces and places.

Description: The group will meet at a common start point, and session leaders will share some thoughts on design for the new economy, pointing out some of the unique elements. Participants will breakout into groups to discuss and complete a series of exercises. Key insights will be discussed at stops along the way and shared with the larger group 'en plein air' at a plenary report back at the end of the walk-shop. Group members will be encouraged to share their own ideas and reflections as they explore, making links between place, social connections, and economic and ecological flows.

Outcomes: A deeper understanding of how physical design can influence attachments to place and people, and how this attachment can translate into the new economy.
